A Visit by Edmund Rice Principals from Australia (2017-18)

"School shapes you for the future, brings out the person you are, polishes your attitudes and leaves behind numerous memories to cherish throughout your life."
It was indeed a great pleasure and joy to welcome 16 distinguished Principals and Educators of the Edmund Rice Education from Australia to our school - St. Columba's , on the 28th September 2017.
The Junior school of St.Columba's took great pride in hosting their visit. They were given a warm welcome in a traditional Indian style with garlands, Aarti and Chandan tikka. They proceeded in the school premises with Dhol beats of "Bhangra" and children dancing in colourful attires. It was followed by a wonderful and mesmerizing cultural programme. A presentation on the significant achievements of the Junior school took them on a tour of the many paths trodded by the little champs. The guests were thereafter taken on a quick guided tour of the Junior school thus interacting with the children and teachers from different classes. This was followed by delicious and sumptuous Indian lunch which was thoroughly enjoyed by the guests. It was indeed our privilege and honour to have them amongst us on the very auspicious day of "Eshtami", which signifies the good over evil, here in India. No festival is complete without sweets thus as we came to the end of our programme, traditional Bangali sweets were served. Overall the interaction was a fruitful and enriching experience for students and staff.
