In the year 2002 Mrs.. Sangeeta
Sheel accepted the responsibility of ‘Administrator’ following Br. Sabino D’Souza moving on to Bajpai. This was in keeping with the
Ch ristian Brother’s policy of empowering more lay people to run their
schools and to be supervisors also. At the time Mrs. Sheel had been
teaching for 15years . She is a highly qualified popular maths teacher
and continues to find time to teach her maths classes.
She came to the chair with a vision and this is what she has to say;

I wanted to raise our academic standards but I
wanted it done in an atmosphere of joy”

Exams
Are held in the middle school primarily, to reinforce teaching and as a
tool for assessment .The system for assessment and evaluation spanned
over the entire academic year, included two term exams which in turn
consisted of two unit test each .The unit tests, were of shorter
duration and kept with the purpose of giving the weaker child an
opportunity to score.

The Counseling Service
aims to support the academic objectives of the school by providing help
to students who have emotional, academic and psychological difficulties
which may be disrupting their ability to study effectively. We recognize
no hierarchy of difficulty when talking to students and believe that
counseling is a process which can be helpful to people in all sorts of
situations. What matters is simply that you have a problem……and that you

Expression
is the basic need of human nature. To express his feelings, man,
sometimes takes the help of brush to paint the canvas, sometimes uses
his words to express the feelings. These feelings are “Anubhuti”.
Through this inter school Hindi debate, we give opportunity to the

an intra - school fest exclusively for the middle school section was held on 14th Novemeber’05 to give them a children’s day worth remembering. Flagged off with a special morning assembly, every event was conducted with great deal of planning and panache by the concerned teachers. Annual
Sports Day '2007
The Annual Sports Day took place on 22nd
Nov, 2007. The competition was held section – wise. The events were 50m
for Classes 4 to 7; 100, 200, 400 and 4x100m Relay for Classes 4 to 10
and Cross-Country for Classes 8 to 10 for which the first 10 students
were awarded. The new item was the Composite Relay for Classes 4 to 10.
There was also a Class 10-12 Relay in which Class 12 secured the first
position, Class 10 the second and Class 11 the third.

On the 4th of
Aug’2008, St. Columba’s hosted the Eleventh Annual Science Symposium (SYMSCI
2008) for class X. It was coordinated by Mr. Naresh Chopra with the team
of teachers from the Science department.

Children
are encouraged to participate and are sent for inter school sports such
as football and basketball. They also go for debates, recitation and
drama. This teaches them to deal maturely with both success and failure.
